Coming soon for iPhone and Android

The baby monitor app for the evening

A spare phone in the nursery, yours in your pocket: Babyfino speaks up as soon as your child wakes – and just as much when the connection drops. End-to-end encrypted, over Wi-Fi and mobile data.

How it works

  1. A spare phone becomes the baby monitor

An old iPhone or Android phone goes into the nursery, on its charger. Before it starts listening it checks the microphone, the charger, mute, and whether alarms reach you – and only speaks up if something is missing.

  2. Pair with a QR code

No account, no password: your phone scans the code. More parent phones join the same way, iPhone and Android mixed.

  3. Spend the evening wherever you like

In the living room, at dinner, at your desk or in the garden. When the baby’s phone starts listening, live sound starts on yours by itself. Music and phone calls keep working.

  4. One tap ends the evening

When you go to bed, “End the evening” stops every monitor at once – with a short look back at how often your child woke.

Calm until it matters

Babyfino is quiet while all is well. It gets loud only when your child needs someone – or when you could no longer hear them.

  • An alarm when your child wakes

When the baby’s phone hears a sound above your threshold, the alarm arrives as a notification – even with the app closed and during a phone call. As long as it stays loud, it alerts again. You can set the sensitivity from your own phone.

  • An alarm when the connection drops

The baby’s phone checks in every three seconds. If it stops – battery flat, Wi-Fi gone, app crashed – you know within about ten seconds. No monitor that fails in silence.

  • Listen live, watch if you like

Tap the alarm and you hear your child. Video when you want it – while the screen in the nursery stays black.

  • At a glance

How loud the last minutes were, when your child was last heard, how full the baby phone’s battery is. On iPhone, on the lock screen too.

Whoever puts them to bed often falls asleep too

The sleep companion checks in with a gentle vibration to see if you’re still awake. If you don’t answer, your partner is told within minutes – while nothing lights up or sounds in the nursery.

What you hear stays with you

A baby monitor listens into your nursery. That’s why with Babyfino nobody listens in who isn’t part of your family.

  • End-to-end encrypted

Sound and picture are encrypted with the standard behind video calls in the browser. Your devices sign the keys themselves – not even our server can listen in.

  • Nothing on a server

No sound, no picture, no recording is stored on a server. Your evening’s history stays on your phones.

  • Honest about what we see

Our server knows when a monitor is listening and when an alarm happens – otherwise it couldn’t alert you. It receives your children’s names only encrypted.

Why that is more than “secure” on a box, and how radio monitors and Wi-Fi cameras compare, is in the comparison with video baby monitors.

No range that runs out

Babyfino uses your Wi-Fi and, when you’re away from home, mobile data. There is no radio limit like with classic monitors. In return both phones need an Internet connection – and if it drops, Babyfino tells you instead of going quiet.

Frequently asked questions

When is Babyfino available?

Babyfino is coming soon for iPhone (iOS 16.4 or later) and Android (version 7 or later). Right now we are testing it in the family.

Do I need two phones?

Yes. One stays with your child as the baby monitor; you listen on the other. Several parent phones can receive at the same time, iPhone and Android mixed.

Does Babyfino work without the Internet?

No. Both phones need Wi-Fi or mobile data, because alarms arrive as notifications over the network. If the baby’s phone loses its connection, Babyfino alarms the parent phones.

Do I need an account?

No. The devices pair with a QR code; there is no e-mail address and no password.

Is Babyfino meant for the whole night?

Babyfino is made for the evening: from putting your child to bed until you go to bed yourself. Then one tap ends the listening.

Is Babyfino a medical device?

No. Babyfino listens for sound. It monitors neither breathing nor movement and does not replace someone checking on the child.
